Not surprisingly, the pandemic has been credited for bridging the generational tech divide as older adults flocked to adopt technology in 2020. Usage increased across the technological spectrum, According to AARP’s latest, annual technology survey, usage among seniors increased across the technological spectrum.

We are streaming movies and TV shows, video-chatting

with family and friends, and buying new smart devices, such as TVs, phones, watches, tablets, home assistants, and home security.

We purchased and are using more smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and wearables, and audio devices such as earbuds and headsets. Not only are adults in their 50s buying devices; people in their 60s and 70s are buying more, too.

With increase use of technology, many seniors struggle with questions on how to use a device as well as how to protect their privacy.

The purpose of this blog is to provide our elderly participants with information and resources that will further eliminate the digital divide between generations. Each month, a new topic regarding tech use will be added to the blog.
